The Hunt is On (for chiaro_oscuro)

Loki had shifted into his canine shape and was now wolf-like as he padded through the heavy leafy undergrowth of the forest. The Nexus Wilds were a perfect place as any to stage a hunt. The prey was aplenty and this time Loki wasn't alone. He had Ben the man who wielded the powerful laser sword to accompany him once again on a glorious hunt. Sniffing the evening air, the god of mischief slowly walked up to Ben, offering his clothes a playful but not strong tug. It was more playful than anything else.

"Are you ready to catch a bore or perhaps a deer, Ben? I can smell a scent of prey up ahead through the clearing."

The wolf cocking his head and looking towards the clearing in the woods just shy of their current position. Loki would change back into his usual form for the hunt since it wouldn't be fair for Ben since he lacked the god's animal instincts and sixth sense. The company of the other man gave Loki a reason to chose Ben as his friend due to their interests and personalities. They worked well together.

Open Post for The Nexus - Loki's Popsicle Palace

Loki had been in the Nexus a few months now and had settled down somewhat from his initial unorthodox entrance into a strange new world. He had met his brother, albeit a future version of Thor, but still his brother none he less. He had also met angels and beings from all over time and space. The god had even gained a furry, feathered feline companion in the form of Thorkitty, his catwing. The little creature had gotten used to his leather-clad owner and was now wandering around between Loki's long legs, looking up and expecting a fishy treat or two.

Today though, Loki was at his popsicle palace, which was his Norse looking hut, which sold all types of flavoured iced treats. The idea being that he would tout his trade and get to know his customers which could be known friends and strangers alike.

"Alright. I suppose you won't leave me alone until I give you one of these."

Loki summoned a fish-shaped treat biscuit in his palm and knelt down to offer it to his catwing. Thorkitty meowed loudly and took it from his hand, eating it quickly. He had grown in the month or so since Loki had adopted him. His wings taking on a more fuller form and his fur becoming thicker and much more blond. The name had stuck since the colour and temperament reminded him of his brother.

"Now, I wonder if we will get any customers today. Let us hope we do."

Opening the wooden doors to the shack, Loki popped the OPEN sign up and then walked back inside, looking out of the hatch and feeling the morning sun against his face.

A Dinner For Two [Mantis X Loki]

It had been a few hours since Loki had spoken to Mantis regarding their arrangements for dinner this evening. Now that the god was back in his apartment he had been busy preparing rabbit meat and vegetables to be added into a stewing pot, which was currently bubbling over a fire. Loki had created the interior by himself with the aid of his magic and a few supplies around the Nexus. It was a home from home, almost. The hearth was a useful addition since he created most of his meals inside the large iron pot suspended over a rack. It was what he was used to anyway.

Thorkitty was asleep in the corner of the room tired out by playing with the yarns of wool Loki had supplied him with. The sleeping catwing was curled up in his bed probably dreaming as he often did by twitching now and then in his slumber.

It was coming around to 7pm and Loki knew Mantis should be arriving soon judging by how dark it was getting outside. As to what the man would be wearing was a mystery to Loki, since Mantis had promised to dress for the occasion. Loki, himself, was dressed in a green jerkin with black leather pants. Simple wear for around the house. Placing in a few herbs, mostly thyme and rosemary, the bubbling pot was coming to a simmer with smells of cooked rabbit and stewed vegetables wafting around the room.

The table was set out with a green table cloth with two wooden plates for their food accompanied with knives and forks, which were steel. Loki had standards and wanted to create a meal that would enlighten him to Asgardian cooking and how it was eaten. A bottle of wine sat in the centre of the dining table with two glasses either side. If Mantis did not wish wine then Loki would summon whatever he wanted as a substitute.

Knife Throwing at the Viper's Pit [Nexus_Crossings]

Loki had been in the Nexus a good few weeks now and had gotten used to some of the locale and locals inhabiting the place. His brother was a welcome addition and even some of the mortals were not too bad considering. Yet, he felt wasted. He had to hone his skills, so he had decided to use the opportunity to frequent the Viper's Pit establishment owned by another Loki.

A knife throwing contest.

It was open to all out in the back so that people had enough room to move and spectate if they so wished. The knife throwing board was a straw target perched up with a bulls-eye painted in the middle. A standard target used by archers and knife-throwers alike. Loki also arranged for a few jugs of mead and wine to be close by so that spectators and opponents could keep themselves hydrated.

"I wonder who the first will be to reach a bulls-eye. Anyone feel up to challenging a god?"

His smirk was genuine and so were the black-hilted knives he was currently flipping into the air and catching deftly. His long digits easily finding the handle avoiding the blade effortlessly. A thousand or more years being trained in knives helped.
